University Health Care is the first hospital system in the country to post online physician reviews and comments. Utah’s only academic medical center uses data from more than 40,000 patient surveys to rate its physicians on nine measures using a five-star system.
Health care consumers considering a physician now have an additional tool— online access to the system’s patient satisfaction scores and comments. (Select a physician from the left sidebar listing.)
“It’s clear patients and consumers making health care decisions want online access to trusted reviews from their peers,” says Thomas Miller, M.D., chief medical officer for University Health Care. ”The ratings give visitors a powerful tool to make informed decisions about our physicians and providers.” Currently, the system’s lowest physician ranking is 3.9 out of 5 stars with the next lowest at 4.2. The system’s overall physician satisfaction ranking is 4.7.
