Employee Appreciation Day is Thursday, Sept. 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Visit the Employee Appreciation Day website for more information.
Remember, your UCard is your ticket to get in. If you are a student employee, please send an email to EAD@utah.edu indicating such and include your UID number. You will receive a confirmation email in return. Please bring a copy of the confirmation email and your student UCard to the main gates for entry.
If you can’t make it to this years’ event, and would still like an opportunity to participate, a prize drawing will be held for those who can’t attend. Simply send an email to EAD@utah.edu indicating you will be unable to attend but would like to enter the prize drawing. (One email per person only.)
Due to the success of last year’s U Got Talent, the show will return this year! Check out the main stage on the plaza from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Singing, dancing, magic tricks—it’s all there. Need a flu shot? Flu shots–for employees only–will be available for as long as supplies last. Enjoy the day with a variety of other activities. Pick up your complimentary book, DVD, or CD at the Hooked on Books tent; drop by the photo station to have your picture taken in front of a U of U backdrop; head over to the field to try your luck at the football and soccer kicks; or work your way to the top of the climbing wall. Bingo is back, and the fantastic prizes will have you hoping for a black-out. Hungry? That’s covered, too. Pizza, ice cream, snow cones, soft drinks, and popcorn will be available. Finally, after enjoying the festivities, if you want to unwind, Heavenly Hands will provide free massages on the plaza.
Several community businesses and campus departments will reach out to U employees with exhibits.
Getting to EAD
Event organizers are pleased to offer a bike corral located on the northwest side of the stadium. Avoid road congestion and ride your bike to EAD, then drop it off with an attendant. Additionally, shuttles will be available for those arriving from other areas of campus. Visit the EAD website for shuttle route details.
The EAD committee would like to thank all those staff and faculty members who have registered to volunteer during the event. “Your service and enthusiasm are a reflection of our staff and faculty, and make the day even more exciting!”
